Poverty in San Diego County

Written by HomeTeam Property Management | Nov 12, 2013 5:45:00 PM

Hunger in San Diego affects 15% of the population [1]. Out of the 3.1 million registered residents in San Diego, 446,000 people live day-to-day facing “food insecurity” [2].

Food Insecurity is a measure of food deprivation in the United States. The USDA defines food insecurity as meaning “consistent access to adequate food is limited by lack of money and other resources at times during the year.”

That’s a huge chunk of our population that is left to wonder where their next meal will come from and how they will pay for it. We at HomeTeam Property Management want to help in fighting hunger in San Diego by teaming up with San Diego Food Bank and collecting food with other brokerages and real estate agencies in San Diego.
